Mahendra – Lead Teacher & Supervisor Mahendra brings 18 years of teaching experience across Asia and Europe to the teacher training program, rooted in classical Hatha Yoga mastered in Rishikesh and Varanasi and Buddhist philosophy studied in Tibetan monasteries. He holds a university degree in Yoga and is a certified RYT-500 instructor, offering trainees a rare blend of academic knowledge and lineage-based wisdom. As founder of Atma Jyoti Yoga Retreat & Sound Healing Center and program director, Mahendra guides mantra chanting and kirtan sessions while overseeing students' progress and ensuring the curriculum meets Yoga Alliance standards. His grounded, compassionate presence provides consistent mentorship throughout each trainee's journey toward certification.

Sophia – Meditation & Professional Development Faculty Sophia is a meditation teacher, researcher, and PhD candidate in Comparative Buddhism based in Pokhara, Nepal, who brings over two decades of contemplative practice to the teacher training program at Atma Jyoti Yoga Retreat & Sound Healing Center. She integrates Buddhist philosophy with contemporary approaches to mindfulness and self-awareness, offering students a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern application. In the program, Sophia facilitates courses in meditation instruction, professional ethics, and business development—equipping trainees with both inner tools and practical skills for sustainable teaching careers. Her guidance helps future yoga teachers cultivate presence, integrity, and the confidence to share these practices authentically.

Ankita – Yoga Faculty Ankita holds a Master's degree in Therapeutic Yoga and is a certified 500-hour classical Hatha Yoga instructor with over five years of teaching experience in Varanasi, India. As a core faculty member at Atma Jyoti Yoga Retreat & Sound Healing Center, she delivers the main curriculum including asanas, pranayama, alignment, yoga philosophy, and anatomy. Her strong foundation in classical Hatha Yoga and deep familiarity with yogic texts help trainees build technical proficiency while connecting to the deeper dimensions of practice. Ankita guides students in developing clear teaching skills, precise alignment cues, and the confidence to lead traditional yoga classes with authenticity and heart.
